Wrestlers participating in this session will learn foundation wrestling skills that will increase their propensity to find success at the sport’s youth, middle school, and high school levels. The ultimate goal is to foster a sincere passion for the sport while working hard and having fun. This particular grouping will consist of wresters in grades kindergarten through eighth and each wrestler will be evaluated and moved to the Pythons at coaches’ discretion.

Wrestlers participating in this session will work towards mastery of the foundational wrestling skills introduced as Advanced Pythons. The ultimate goal is to provide student-athletes with the skills needed to successfully transition to the rigor of an advanced, tournament based wrestling season.

Janesville Youth Wrestling Club is a non-profit organization based in Janesville, WI, dedicated to providing a fun, safe, and competitive environment for kids in grades K through 8th to learn and practice the sport of wrestling. We are proud affiliates of the USA Wrestling program. At JYWC, we believe that participation in our program offers more than just wrestling skills. It’s an opportunity to develop social skills and enjoy daily interactions with fellow wrestlers and expert coaches. We strive to create an environment where every youth wrestler can enhance their physical and personal growth.
When you join our club, you will receive a USA CARD that allows you to participate in local, state, regional, and national tournaments. You will also get access to our experienced coaches, supportive parents, and friendly teammates. You will have the opportunity to compete against other clubs and schools, travel to different places, and make lifelong memories.
Competitive sport will introduce youth to many values they will carry with them throughout their lives. It is our desire to teach skills, values, and offer character-building traits that will not emphasize that you “win at all costs”. Often these ideals are fostered by over zealous parents and coaches. Our program will not only help develop children to understand that success often includes winning, but ultimately means committing to learn to become a team player, to become physically and mentally sound, and be a part of competition that stresses improvement and fun as an end goal. Being able to compete is something all individuals must learn, to be able to succeed in life.
